Ryan Companies is hiring 2 Estimator II professionals! This role provides estimating management and support during the preconstruction process, focusing on the creation and analysis of detailed cost information. The position requires working onsite 4 days a week in Minneapolis, Chicago, or Austin offices.
Responsibilities- Work with project managers to develop conceptual and detailed estimates.
- Perform quantity take‑offs of all construction systems.
- Create project estimates individually and with a team.
- Solicit subcontractor pricing for budgeting and bid proposals.
- Scope and select subcontractors based on best value and project requirements.
- Record final estimates and maintain cost history.
- Support the development, architectural, and construction team with preconstruction expertise including value design, costs, project schedule, procurement, and project pursuits.
- Train Cost Engineers and Project Management staff.
- Review and provide feedback on project estimates created by the project managers.
- Provide direction for understanding project scope, market pricing, and available resources.
- Assist clients and developers with conceptual budgets.
- Capable of cost modeling using Uniformat II system costs.
- 4‑year engineering, architectural, or management degree, or relevant experience.
- 6+ years commercial construction experience.
- Knowledge of construction methods and ability to read and understand project plans.
- Proficiency with CSI and Uniformat II work breakdown structures and quantity take‑offs.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Working knowledge of OST, Bluebeam, VICO, Navisworks, and Revit is a plus.
- Knowledge of design‑build, CM at Risk, and best‑value processes.
- Ability to teach skills and knowledge to others.
- Excellent listening, prioritizing, and value‑respecting communication.
The annual salary range is $99,000–$120,000 per year, with base salary varying within this range based on location and the candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities.
