About the Role:Currie & Brown is seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented Junior Electrical Estimator to join our growing team in Minneapolis, MN. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Construction Management graduate or early‑career professional with 0–3 years of experience who is eager to build a long‑term career in electrical estimating.
Working alongside experienced estimators and project professionals, you will receive hands‑on training while supporting cost estimating efforts for commercial, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, and mission‑critical construction projects.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, technically curious, comfortable learning new technologies, and excited to develop expertise in construction estimating and cost management.
Responsibilities will Include:- Assist in preparing electrical cost estimates throughout various phases of design and construction.
- Perform quantity takeoffs from construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Support senior estimators with pricing analysis, bid evaluations, and estimate development.
- Assist in gathering subcontractor and vendor pricing information.
- Review project drawings and specifications to identify scope requirements and potential cost impacts.
- Help develop estimate summaries, reports, and presentations for internal and client review.
- Maintain estimating databases, historical cost information, and benchmarking tools.
- Utilize estimating software, Excel, and other technology platforms to support project delivery.
- Collaborate with project teams, clients, contractors, and consultants as needed.
- Participate in continuous learning and professional development opportunities.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Construction Technology, or a related field preferred.
- 0–3 years of construction, estimating, project engineering, internship, or related experience.
- Strong interest in construction estimating, cost management, and project delivery.
- Tech‑savvy with the ability to quickly learn new software, systems, and digital tools.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Procore, or estimating software is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications is preferred.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork abilities.
- Semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, mission‑critical, or commercial construction exposure is a plus.
- Ability to work full‑time in our Minneapolis, MN office.
