Construction Project Executive – K-12
Location:
Minneapolis, MN | Direct Hire | Compensation: $180,000 - $200,000 per year.
Konik is partnering with a general contractor that is seeking to add a Project Executive to lead K‑12 and public‑sector construction projects throughout the Midwest region. This is a strategic leadership opportunity for a senior construction professional who thrives in client‑facing environments, enjoys mentoring teams, and has a strong background delivering complex education‑focused projects.
Responsibilities- Lead and oversee multiple K‑12 construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and development support to Project Managers and operations teams.
- Serve as the primary client interface and maintain strong relationships with owners, architects, consultants, and trade partners.
- Support project strategy, staffing, budgeting, scheduling, risk management, and operational execution.
- Collaborate with preconstruction and field leadership teams on constructability reviews, budgeting, scheduling, and procurement strategies.
- Lead business development efforts within the education and public‑sector markets, including presentations, proposals, and client relationship management.
- Monitor project financial performance, forecasting, cost controls, and profitability across assigned projects and teams.
- Foster a collaborative, high‑accountability culture focused on quality, safety, client satisfaction, and long‑term team development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
- 10+ years of commercial construction project leadership experience.
- 4+ years of people management or operations leadership experience.
- Extensive experience delivering K‑12, education, or public‑sector construction projects.
- Strong understanding of CMAR, Design‑Build, and negotiated project delivery methods.
- Experience with project management and scheduling software such as Prolog, P6, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
- Strong leadership, communication, business development, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to lead complex projects and mentor high‑performing teams in a fast‑paced construction environment.
