Preconstruction Manager
United States | Remote / Hybrid | $90,000–$120,000 + Commission
Konik is partnering with a well-respected, nationally recognized commercial contractor specializing in architectural metals and custom glazing solutions. We are seeking a Preconstruction Manager to lead early‑phase project efforts and support the growth of commercial opportunities, including sports facilities, high‑end hospitality, and unique commercial projects. This is a remote‑friendly role, with travel up to 20% of the time, primarily to project sites in the Midwest.
PreconstructionManager Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver competitive, accurate, and timely preconstruction proposals and bid packages.
- Serve as the primary liaison during preconstruction, collaborating with clients, engineers, architects, estimating, and operations teams.
- Review project requirements, specifications, and bid documents to provide accurate conceptual budgets and cost estimates.
- Lead the qualification and assessment of subcontractors and vendors for project pursuits.
- Maintain and manage the sales pipeline to support forecasting, opportunity tracking, and business development initiatives.
- Provide strategic input on constructability, scheduling, and risk mitigation during the design and bid phases.
- Assist with process improvements, standardization, and best practices across preconstruction activities.
- Support seamless handoff to project management teams for successful project execution.
- Contribute market insights and technical recommendations to support the company’s growth strategy.
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of preconstruction, estimating, or sales experience within commercial construction.
- Knowledge of architectural metals, ornamental metal, or similar commercial construction markets.
- Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to create cost estimates and track opportunities.
- Self‑starter with exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment, with minimal oversight.
- Willingness to travel up to 20%, primarily within the Midwest.
