Assistant Project Manager
GPAC has partnered with a reputable and growing construction company specializing in structural steel fabrication and erection. We are seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support projects from award through completion.
This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional looking to advance their career with a stable company, strong backlog of work, and opportunities for growth. This position requires 80%+ travel to active project sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project Managers with coordinating construction projects from award through completion.
- Travel to job sites to support field operations, project coordination, and customer needs.
- Coordinate with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, and field crews.
- Assist with project schedules, budgets, procurement, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and documentation.
- Review drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Monitor project progress and help resolve issues to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
- Participate in job site visits and project meetings.
- Maintain strong communication with customers and internal teams.
- Help ensure projects meet safety, quality, and contractual requirements.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of construction industry experience.
- Willingness and ability to travel 80%+.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Construction project management software experience is a plus.
- Steel fabrication/erection experience is helpful but not required.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Bluebeam, Procore, AutoCAD, Tekla, or similar software.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors, vendors, materials, or field operations.
