* Position Overview
**
Go Fetsch Mechanical LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive estimates and proposals for mechanical construction projects.
This position requires advanced knowledge sheet metal/HVAC systems
. The Senior Mechanical Estimator will independently estimate projects of varying sizes and complexity, including plan-and-spec, design-assist, and design-build projects
.
The ideal candidate combines strong mechanical construction knowledge with attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to build productive relationships with customers, vendors, subcontractors, project managers, and field teams.

* Estimating & Proposals
**
- Review project plans, specifications, drawings, and other bid documents to determine the complete scope of work.
- Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for mechanical construction projects.
- Perform complete material and labor takeoffs for HVAC/sheet metal, and related mechanical systems as applicable.
- Determine labor hours, material quantities, equipment requirements, subcontractor needs, and other project costs.
- Analyze project requirements to determine anticipated time, costs, resources, and materials.
- Solicit and evaluate pricing from vendors and subcontractors while ensuring quotes meet project scope and specifications.
- Develop competitive proposals for current and prospective customers.
- Evaluate design options and recommend solutions based on cost, constructability, quality, schedule, and material availability.
- Identify potential project risks, exclusions, clarifications, and opportunities during the estimating process.
- Review labor and material requirements to identify the most cost-effective approach to completing the work.
- Prepare and deliver accurate project cost estimates within required bid deadlines.
- Maintain current estimating databases, labor rates, material pricing, vendor information, and estimating software.
- Assist with estimating system updates, software upgrades, pricing updates, and training as needed.

* Cost Analysis & Project Support
**
- Compare estimated costs with actual project costs to improve future estimating accuracy.
- Assist with cost tracking, reporting, and historical cost analysis.
- Prepare cost and expenditure documentation when required.
- Support the development and maintenance of estimating and cost-monitoring procedures.
- Provide technical estimating assistance during contract negotiations, change orders, and project scope discussions.
- Participate in project turnover meetings to ensure estimating assumptions, scope, pricing, and project risks are clearly communicated to the project team.
- Assist with project setup and preconstruction planning when needed.

* Documentation & Organization
**
- Maintain organized and complete estimating files, including takeoffs, vendor and subcontractor quotes, proposals, correspondence, drawings, specifications, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain appropriate records of estimating activities and business transactions with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure estimate documentation provides clear backup for pricing, assumptions, exclusions, and scope.
- Review final estimate packages for accuracy and completeness before submission or peer review.

* Team Collaboration & Customer Relationships

- Work closely with project management, field leadership, vendors, subcontractors, and company leadership throughout the estimating and project turnover process.
- Support other estimating and operational needs as required.
- Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to less-experienced estimators and team members.
- Provide work direction and delegate estimating responsibilities when appropriate.
- Participate in proposal presentations, scope reviews, and customer meetings.
- Develop strong relationships with customers, general contractors, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Help create long-term customer partnerships that lead to repeat business and future opportunities.
- Promote mutual trust, respect, accountability, and cooperation with customers and team members.
- Contribute positively to the culture and continued growth of Go Fetsch Mechanical LLC/Fab Duct.
- Maintain and promote a safety-first mindset in estimating, planning, and project execution.

* What We're Looking For
**
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent mechanical construction experience will also be considered.
- ** 5+ years of mechanical estimating, engineering, project management, or relevant trade experience preferred.**
- Strong knowledge of commercial and/or industrial mechanical construction.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing and/or HVAC/sheet metal systems
. - Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and contract documents.
- Strong understanding of labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and other cost components of a mechanical estimate.
