Responsibilities
- Manage a team of anchors, reporters, photographers, editors and other journalists
- Craft phenomenal TV and help collaborate on content for digital platforms every day
- Understand the importance of performing strong breaking news and weather coverage
- Ideate and craft moments to showcase news/weather and sports anchors
- Work closely with news managers to evaluate helpful content for the changing audience
- Apply video, live pictures, graphics, props, social media, anchor involvement and other tools of television to deliver meaningful, memorable and distinctive news
- Write memorable copy on tight deadlines
- Ensure newscast’s timeliness, accuracy, fairness, quality and compliance with all FCC requirements and CBS standards
- Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or Communications
- 2+ years’ experience as a producer in commercial television news
- Naturally curious and competitive leader; phenomenal interpersonal skills, conversational writing, and efficiency working in teams and on tight deadlines
- Experience with iNews, Tagboard, Grass Valley Stratus/Edius, Ross Overdrive
Hiring salary range: $56,048.00 – 62,800.00.
The hiring salary range applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington, and most other geographies. Starting pay depends on geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance, disability benefits, tuition assistance, and PTO, or as otherwise dictated by the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
