- Before beginning Multimedia Specialist duties, selectees will be required to complete a mandatory Multimedia Specialist Training Course. Failure to successfully complete/pass the training may result in placement in another position or separation from the FBI.
- If you have already passed a Multimedia Specialist Training Course, re-attendance is not required. Selectees attending the Multimedia Specialist Training Course will be scheduled for the next available training course.
Physical Demands:
The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, bending, and lifting heavy equipment. Substantial reaching and stretching may be necessary. Visual color distinction is required. Work Environment:
The work is typically performed in adequately lighted and climate controlled offices and studios and requires no special safety precautions. However, the incumbent would be required at times to work in outdoor locations. Occasional travel may be required.
- Partners with public affairs officials to document and profile news events, trainings, community events, and office events using video and photography equipment.
- Develops regular content for multiple social media platforms in line with established strategies, policies, and office initiatives.
- Serves as a content creator; pitches ideas, develops scripts, interviews staff, serves as a producer, and communicates stories in a clear and concise manner for internal and external audiences.
- Plans, designs, produces, and/or assembles graphic design products for internal and external web and print use.

Specialized Experience (SE) GS-7:
Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-5 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
- Communicated orally and in writing with a variety of audiences
- Identified the format to properly convey information (e.g., video/photo/report/presentation)
- Created and edited digital media (e.g., video/graphic design/photo/report/presentation)
GS-9:
Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-7 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
- Communicated orally and in writing with a variety of audiences
- Identified the format to properly convey information (e.g., video/photo/report/presentation)
- Created and edited multiple types of digital media (e.g., graphic design/photo/report/presentation)
- Produced videos, including recording and editing
GS-11:
Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS-9 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
- Assisted in the conception and strategy of digital media products
- Produced videos, including recording and editing
- Created digital media products for print, web, presentation, or social media, or animated content for video using motion graphics tools
Education All degrees must be from an accredited college or university. Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:

Applicant must have a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement or one (1) full year of graduate level education.
