This position will be 16 hours per pay period and provides telephone and network support to all departments at the Minnesota Veterans Home - Minneapolis. This position is also responsible for daily regular and emergency communication services, reception duties, mail distribution, and transportation dispatch services; monitors security equipment and various equipment repair services; and also provides backup for various administration clerical staff duties.

Minimum Qualifications

Skill in customer service sufficient to schedule and confirm appointments, answer questions, and advise customers of policies, procedures, and regulations as well as to provide prompt, courteous, and accurate information to customers in person, on the phone, and through e-mail and other correspondence.
Typing and word processing skills sufficient to use software such as Microsoft Office products to generate forms, reports, and general correspondence.
Communication skills sufficient to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals in person and on the phone and to interpret and communicate work policies and procedures to staff.
Ability to open, sort, and deliver mail.
Experience working in an office/clerical setting in a long-term care facility.
Additional RequirementsThis position requires successful completion of the following:
A Minnesota Department of Human services (DHS) background check may be conducted on the top finalist(s) for the position(s). When conducted, a finalist must pass the DHS background check.
A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment.
