GENERAL SUMMARY
The Associate Care Coordinator is responsible for assisting Government Program members (Minnesota Health Care Programs) in obtaining dental services, scheduling dental appointments, and alleviating any barriers a member may have to reaching their appointment. The Associate Care Coordinator works closely with members, case managers, and designated representatives to ensure that members know their dental benefits and patient responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Assist Government Program members in obtaining access to dental services from either participating or non-participating providers.
- Assist Government Program members in arranging for transportation and/or interpreter services when applicable.
- Coordinate with dental offices and make reminder calls to members.
- Follow up with the member and the office after the initial appointment to confirm the member attended and determine whether further follow-up care is needed.
- Assist customer service based on forecast and call volume.
- Other related duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Developed communication and human relations skills to effectively deal with a diverse range of individuals.
- Ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, clearly and concisely with professionals, dentists, office management, and support staff.
- Basic PC skills, including working knowledge and use of Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of Minnesota Government Programs.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, coding, and benefits. Medical terminology is a plus.
- Basic understanding of claims processes and systems.
- Strong organizational and file management skills.
- Ability to prioritize in order to meet regulation guidelines.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- High School Diploma or equivalent plus related experience; college degree preferred.
- 1 year handling Delta Dental of Minnesota phone inquiries.
- Knowledge and experience with Minnesota Health Care Programs preferred.

The starting salary range for this position is $18.00 to $23.00 per hour. Salary offers will typically be made in the listed range. Salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.
