Hours:
Monday & Friday: 2:30 PM – 11 PM;
Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday: 11:30 AM – 8 PM.
Responsible for answering phone calls requesting assistance and information, interviewing callers, providing customer service information, dispatching MPS transportation staff, processing work requests using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and monitoring fire, security, and building automation systems throughout the District.
Essential Functions- Answer incoming emergency and non-emergency calls; interview callers and gather details; relay information on traffic, timing, service locations, safety rules, state and Federal regulations, MPS policies and procedures, and standards for student behavior.
- Answer customer service telephone, provide general information, and determine specific service needs; use computerized scheduling system and manual systems as needed; provide information within scope of authority and training; duties may vary according to job assignment.
- Direct callers to the correct person or work group or take and relay messages as appropriate; also handle radio traffic.
- Receive calls from drivers and other MPS staff regarding transportation issues; relay pertinent information in a concise and organized manner; maintain communications as necessary.
- Provide security monitoring for all MPS facilities; notify police, fire, engineering and other MPS staff when problems are identified in an MPS facility; report operational irregularities to supervisor.
- Monitor Building Automation Systems throughout the District; manipulate system controls according to policy and procedures.
- Coordinate and follow up on District-wide work requests using CMMS; respond to service requests with appropriate actions.
- Coordinate dispatching of resources to resolve service issues as needed; monitor execution and completion of work orders; assist as requested.
- Input data to MPS computer systems on work orders, service requests, administrative information, activity logs, asset information, and other District operational records; compile data for reports.
- Prioritize calls for service and determine appropriate personnel to respond.
- Respond to emergencies and assist with emergency work as directed.
- Notify supervisors of unusual problems and problem trends.
- Report unsafe acts, conditions, accidents and injuries; report security issues and illegal activities.
- Utilize proper safety precautions in all work performed.
- Perform basic clerical duties, including data entry, document processing, record keeping and file maintenance.
- Demonstrate courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with students, clients, visitors, and MPS staff; act in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.
- Enthusiastically promote the Superintendent’s goals and priorities in compliance with all policies and procedures.

- Education:
High School Diploma or GED; and two (2) years of customer service/administrative support experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by Human Resources. - Knowledge of: principles of record keeping and records management; occupational hazards and safety precautions; principles and practices of effective customer service; radio & telephone communications protocols; local and regional geographical area and road systems; building maintenance procedures.
