Customer Service Representative

Description

We are seeking a Customer Service Representative to join our client's team within the life insurance industry. This role is responsible for supporting policyholders, beneficiaries, and agents by answering questions, resolving issues, and providing excellent service throughout the life insurance policy lifecycle. The ideal candidate is professional, empathetic, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling sensitive customer conversations.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Respond to inbound calls, emails, and other inquiries from customers, policyholders, and agents

+ Assist with questions related to life insurance policies, coverage, billing, claims status, beneficiary updates, and policy changes

+ Explain policy information clearly and accurately while maintaining compliance with company standards and regulations

+ Process service requests such as address changes, payment updates, policy reinstatements, and documentation requests

+ Research and resolve customer concerns in a timely and professional manner

+ Document all customer interactions and account updates in internal systems

+ Coordinate with underwriting, claims, billing, and other internal departments as needed

+ Maintain confidentiality when handling personal and financial information

+ Meet service level expectations for response time, quality, and customer satisfaction

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred

+ 1+ years of customer service experience, preferably in insurance, financial services, or a regulated industry

+ Life insurance industry experience strongly preferred

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills

+ Ability to explain complex information in a clear, customer-friendly manner

+ Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills

+ Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office and customer relationship management systems

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred

Skills:

+ Experience supporting life insurance products such as term, whole, or universal life policies

+ Familiarity with claims processes and policy administration

+ Comfortable working in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment

+ Bilingual skills are a plus
