The License Dental Assistant (LDA) supports the dentist in delivering high-quality patient care by assisting with treatment procedures, taking x-rays, and educating patients on oral health. They maintain a clean and sterile environment, ensure compliance with safety and infection control regulations, and help foster a positive patient experience.

• Assist the dentist to gain patient commitment for treatment with urgency
• Promote a positive patient experience by addressing individual needs
• Prepare patients for treatment and support the dentist during procedures
• Perform x-rays and intra-oral imaging as directed
• Educate patients on postoperative and oral health care
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and operatories according to ADA guidelines
• Ensure compliance with all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards

• High school diploma or GED, with required state training and certifications
• Relevant licenses or registrations (e.g., radiography, sealant application)
• Preferred: an associate degree or one-year certificate from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience
