Clinical Assistant or Associate Professor

The University of Minnesota invites applicants to apply for a full-time clinical faculty position (Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor) in the division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Responsibilities will include clinical teaching, provision of hospital minor and major cases, seminars and lectures to advanced and predoctoral students, clinical coverage and supervision, provision of on-call services, and participation on school of Dentistry committees and governance.

As well, there will be opportunities for research activity, integration into the divisions’ continuing education activities and participation in the divisional group practice. Participation in the cleft lip / cleft palate and craniofacial multidisciplinary team clinic and conferences is available if desired.

Required Academic Preparation:

• Completion of a CODA accredited advanced education training program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
• Certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons or eligible to become Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons
• Full Minnesota dental license or eligible for full dental/specialist licensure in the state of Minnesota
• Full dental anesthesia license or eligible for full dental anesthesia licensure in the state of Minnesota

Required Experience:

• Experienced surgeon in procedures that encompass full scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery both clinically and minor/major operating room procedures
• Be able to provide examples or evidence of quality teaching at both resident and predoctoral levels

Preferred Experience:

• Clinical teaching with lectures and seminars
• Providing clinical coverage and supervision of both predoctoral and resident levels
• Participation in committees and governance
• Participation in and providing continuing education
• Clinical practice
• Serving as a mentor to faculty and students

Pay Range: $290,000 - $310,000; depending on education/qualifications/experience
