This position provides customers, sales representatives, and the technical staff with accurate pencil, AutoCAD and Visio drawings and documentation of audio, video, audiovisual, and presentation systems in accordance with established Technical Standards.
The CAD Technician researches available hardware and software options, analyzes the capabilities of available hardware and software, and assists in the design of an audio-visual system of various hardware and software components which work together as one integrated system to best meet the specific customer needs.
Job Requirements- A CAD Technician's educational background should consist of formal training; AAS degree in ECAD or IT Technology is preferred. AutoCAD software proficiency is important. Computer literacy skills supported by acknowledged certification.
- Aptitude to read and understand architectural and construction drawings, along with the ability to draw and modify architectural drawings is important to the position.
- Communication skills, ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and the ability to work independently and to be self-directed have direct results on success in this position.
- Previous experience in the service and installation of audio, video, audiovisual and presentation systems is not necessary but would be supportive to the position.
