RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide technical support in the field as a member of the management team responsible for live turkey production. Work with an entire team of skilled veterinarians and nutritionists to support company and contract turkey farms. Develop and maintain preventative medicine and general turkey health management programs. Plan and execute detailed projects and focusing on improving health and performance. Provide key support to basic processing to maximize the yield of wholesome turkey meat.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

Discipline, responsibility, and motivation, A forward thinking attitude, strong organizational skills, Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making ability, Strong interpersonal skills, well-developed written and verbal communication skills and strong work ethic, A pattern of initiative and leadership, Demonstrates a passion for animal care and agricultural field, Successful candidates must have a DVM degree from an AVMA accredited institution and have or be eligible for veterinary licensure, Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States, Applicants must not now, or in the future, require sponsorship for an employment visa.

Previous experience in poultry production

TRAVEL: 15% overnight travel to include continuing education and team manager meetings, 75% daily travel to farms

At Jennie-O/Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $120,000-$168,000 per year, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
