DescriptionPKA Architecture is a full‑service architecture firm that specializes in high‑end homes, lofts, cabins, and boutique commercial projects. Based in Minneapolis with projects across the country, we are a collaborative studio that focuses on a high level of design and client service.
DesignerWe are hiring a Designer to work in our Uptown studio. A Designer is an integral part of the design and production of a project, guiding a project from initial concept to a complete design that can be built efficiently.
Responsibilities- Assist Project Managers with production of drawings for presentations and construction documents
- Conduct 3D modeling for both iterative design purposes as well as for documentation and rendering
- Coordinate changes in drawings
- Fill out product and finish schedules
- Work directly with consultants and engineers
- Participate in design meetings
- 3+ years of experience in high‑end residential design and documentation
- Self‑motivated and capable of working independently
- Effective time management skills and a sense of urgency in completing assignments
- High degree of organization and ability to quickly adjust priorities
- General knowledge of construction methods and drafting
- General knowledge of detailing and coordination of drawing sets
- Licensure is not required, but licensed candidates are encouraged to apply
- Professional experience with Sketch Up
- Professional experience with AutoCAD
- Experience with Enscape
- Professional experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Proficiency with Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign)
- Experience with Revit, ArchiCAD, or other BIM software is a plus, but not required
- Good written communication skills
