Unfold Architecture is seeking a skilled and experienced Project Architect with strong design sensibility and a background in residential architecture. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, technically proficient, and capable of managing multiple projects at various stages of design and construction.
Essential Duties- Lead design initiatives on various scales of residential architecture via direct client communication, consultation, and presentation
- Develop, prepare, and review drawings utilizing Revit and other architectural drafting tools
- Prepare code compliance evaluations and participate in reviews with governing agencies for zoning laws, fire regulations, building codes, and other ordinances
- Participate in pre-design services such as feasibility studies, site selection, and cost analysis
- Ensure design specifications are coordinated with drawings
- Coordinate information and work on a multi-disciplined team
- Interact & coordinate with clients and contractors throughout the design, development, and construction phases of a project
- Report the status of the design process and cost analysis to appropriate individuals
- Provide strong technical detailing skills in a variety of construction materials and building types
- Help establish Unfold’s market presence as a boutique, high-end design firm by creating marketing materials, writing blog posts, event planning, and branding opportunities
- 5-10 years of residential architectural experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture or related work experience
- Licensed Architect preferred but not required
- Ability to persuasively and visually communicate ideas through written and verbal communication
- Knowledge of building codes such as IRC, IBC, and ADA
- Proficiency in Revit, Sketch Up, Enscape, and Adobe Suite
- Self-directed and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Project management experience is a plus
- Demonstrated track record of successful past employment
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and collaborate with various team members across projects at all levels of completion
