Are you ready to take your technical expertise to the next level? At Medtronic's Rice Creek Manufacturing site, we are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Design Technician V to join our team. In this critical role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the design, development, and implementation of cutting-edge manufacturing processes and equipment. You will also work closely with design and engineering teams to create fixtures, molds, test fixtures, and miscellaneous parts that require manufacturing using machine tools.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

+ Program and operate various CNC vertical machining centers, Wire EDMs, manual grinders, lathes, and secondary operation equipment

+ Analyze drawings, sketches, models, and engineering or shop specifications to prepare metalworking dies, molds, and machine tool fixtures

+ Utilize machinist hand tools and precision measuring instruments to calculate dimensions and ensure tolerances are met

+ Perform precision machining work to meet exacting tolerances and dimensions, while revising designs and solving problems as needed

+ Monitor and verify quality and safety compliance in alignment with Medtronic's standards.

** Required Knowledge and

Experience:

* + Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience.

+ Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

** Nice to Have:*
* + Prior experience in a tool room environment

+ Knowledge of setting up and running Haas vertical machining centers, lathes, and wire EDMs

+ Proficiency in programming using Mastercam software

+ Familiarity with navigating Creo Parametric

+ Understanding of cutting tool geometry and applications

+

Experience with vertical CNC machining centers

+ Ability to read and interpret advanced drawings with GD&T.

+ Skills in conceptualizing and sketching tools, fixtures, and gauges.

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
