General Arrangement Designer (Hybrid)

VAA is an engineering, planning and design firm specializing in commercial projects, bulk commodity‑handling facilities, and value‑added manufacturing. We serve a diverse portfolio of clients from multinational corporations to local municipalities.

Department: GA Full Time - Hybrid Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States - 55441

• Work with Designers and Engineers to produce quality drawings for projects from concept to construction documents, including during construction support.
• Set up plans, sections, and details to specified CAD standards.
• Coordinate with multi‑discipline design team, clients, and equipment suppliers.
• Provide direction to technicians, review their work, and assist with training.
• Back‑check technicians' work.
• Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and teammates; assist with RFIs and field questions.
• Utilize software with increasing efficiency and depth of understanding.
• Undertake complex design tasks and responsibilities, showing continuous learning, technical development, and client service.
• Coordinate designs with team members and product vendors.
• Attend internal coordination meetings and client coordination meetings.
• Occasional travel may be required for site observations and field measurements.

• Certificate in construction‑related design/drafting or higher.
• 5+ years of experience.

Starting hourly range: $28.50 – $39.00 (determined by market data, geographic location, experience, and specialized skills).
