Job DutiesMead & Hunt, a nationally recognized architectural and engineering firm, is experiencing unprecedented growth. As a result, a full-time position is available for a specifications writer. Responsibilities include creating project manuals for vertical construction projects; preparing and assisting with writing specifications for Divisions 00-14 and interdisciplinary coordination of the entire project manual; assisting with product research, evaluations and selection; developing and updating master specifications and providing leadership for formatting of specifications across disciplines;
participating in educational opportunities related to building products, materials, technologies and standards; providing mentoring for staff. Travel will be required.
The successful candidate must have all of the following:
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in construction management, architecture or engineering
AND
At least eight years of relevant experience
The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:
Experience leading the specification writing process for Divisions 00-14 while meeting schedules and quality expectations
Knowledge of current products, materials and standards including those specified in Divisions 03-14, ICC Codes, and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC's)
Experience with the following specifications software:
Master Spec, Specs Intact, BDS Spec Link
Professional licensure as an architect or engineer
LEED AP, WELL Accredited Professional, or Guiding Principles Compliance Professional
Experience developing and maintaining master specifications for vertical construction projects
Mead & Hunt will not sponsor a visa (H-1B, etc.) for this position.
