A small, reputable high-end building products manufacturer is seeking a relationship-driven Architectural Representative to drive brand specification among premier residential and commercial architectural firms nationwide.
In this role, you will serve as the technical design consultant and primary brand advocate for our custom built solutions during the schematic and planning phases. Your objective is to build lasting relationships with design teams and get our products specified in early project plans. Once construction documents are finalized and handed to the contractor, you will partner with Regional Sales team to close the transaction.
Key Responsibilities- Relationship Building & Specifications: Target and cultivate long-term partnerships with top-tier architectural firms nationwide to secure early-stage product specifications on custom projects.
- AIA Presentations & CEUs: Deliver AIA-accredited Continuing Education Unit (CEU) presentations, conduct lunch-and-learns, and represent the brand at local and national AIA chapter meetings.
- Technical Consultation: Assist architects with design integration, custom dimensions, and material and technical building specifications during conceptual development.
- Pipeline Hand-off Management: Track design projects through the planning phase; hand off qualified leads to (or work with) Regional Sales Managers once contractors are selected.
- Industry Networking: Attend architectural expos, high-end design symposiums, and regional networking events to maintain brand presence and expand firm contacts.
- Proven Track Record: 5+ years of experience in specification-driven sales for luxury, custom-manufactured architectural or building products.
- Architect Network: Deep familiarity with both residential and commercial architectural workflows, project phases, and specification language.
- Presentation Expertise: Proven history of presenting AIA-approved CEUs and speaking directly to architectural teams and industry panels.
- Technical Aptitude: Ability to read architectural plans, technical drawings, and BIM/CAD specifications.
- Travel: Willingness to travel nationally (up to 20-25%) for firm visits, AIA presentations, and industry trade shows.
- Base salary could be $110-125k or more (depending on experience) plus incentive package tied to specification volume and project wins (target at about 20-30% of salary).
