NELSON is currently seeking a creative, innovative,
Registered Architect with Commercial Interiors experience to join our Asset Strategy Practice. As a Sr. Architect, you will lead and execute a broad range of projects through the design process, production of construction documents and construction administration. The Sr. Architect will be responsible for developing solutions to technical problems, assisting multiple interiors projects for code compliance/review at schematic and CD phases, QAQC of CDs.
Ability to work hybrid/in-person in Minneapolis is strongly preferred.

Required Knowledge andSkills:
- Extensive understanding of design, trends, construction methodology, materials application and manufacturer supplier appropriateness.
- Good understanding of project budgets and
- Extensive knowledge of building regulations, life safety codes and ADA
- Extensive knowledge of the construction
- Extensive knowledge of design techniques, tools, and processes involved in production of Construction
- Extensive knowledge of product specifications and
- Good knowledge of MS Project
- Good knowledge of Newforma Project Center
- Good knowledge of Deltek
- Good knowledge of LEED and WELL requirements
Leadership:
- Assist project team with design and technical questions during the project
- Share knowledge with the entire studio and be a resource to the entire NELSON staff
- Be a mentor to staff, including Interns
- Contribute as a Team Leader, on an as needed basis as it relates to individual performance & development within the project team
- Embrace specific steps to create, develop and promote a diverse workforce and to promote an inclusive environment
- Seek to improve the performance and knowledge of staff being supervised
- Direct a team of teammates, including designers and interns
Project Delivery:
- Assist with proposal and contract documents
- Bring solutions to code and life safety issues that arise on projects to align with client goals
- Prepare and oversee the preparation of Concept, Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Documents using software skills listed above
- Conduct field surveys as required
- Develop and/or oversee the development of design concepts into complete design development set and further advance into complete construction drawings
- Assist designers and project managers material research and compilation of project data and incorporation throughout the project
- Prepare project specifications- review as it relates to QAQC
