Salary / CompensationCommensurate with qualifications, the annual salary range for this position is between $110,000 and $130,000 dependent upon experience.
DescriptionHillside Architecture is seeking an experienced, hands-on Project Architect to lead day-to-day project delivery from design development through construction. You will develop coordinated drawing packages, resolve technical issues, and keep projects moving with support from project management and design leadership.
This role focuses on commercial development, medical office, and core and shell projects. The ideal candidate combines strong technical judgment with active Revit production and can independently manage routine project decisions while identifying issues that require leadership input.
- Lead architectural documentation, detailing, and specification coordination while maintaining the design intent established with design leadership.
- Work directly in Revit and guide supporting staff to produce complete, coordinated construction documents.
- Lead day-to-day consultant coordination and resolve architectural, structural, and MEP conflicts.
- Perform code, accessibility, and life safety analysis; coordinate permitting and respond to agency comments.
- Coordinate deliverables, priorities, and deadlines with the project manager; flag scope changes and schedule risks early.
- Handle construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, field observations, and follow-up with contractors and consultants.
- Review drawings for accuracy, constructability, and consistency with project requirements and firm standards.
- Maintain clear client and team communication and mentor junior and mid-level staff.
- 12+ years of architectural experience, including independently leading projects through construction documentation and construction administration.
- Architectural licensure strongly preferred.
- Experience with commercial, medical office, core and shell, or comparable projects.
- Strong working proficiency in Revit and BIM coordination, with a willingness to remain hands-on in production.
- Practical knowledge of building codes, exterior envelopes, construction detailing, and building systems coordination.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage concurrent project priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.
