Practice Setting: Hospital Based Outpatient Clinics | Mental Health and Addiction Service Line
- 1.0 FTE, 8 hr weekday shifts
- Standard clinic hours: 8a-4:30p
- Option for 1-2 days/wk of remote work
- 32 to 36 patient contact hours for a 1.0 FTE clinic provider
- 90-minute general adult intake sessions
- 30-minute general adult follow-up sessions

Position Overview Allina Health is seeking a Perinatal Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary Perinatal Mental Health Program
, embedded within our hospital based outpatient mental health clinics and closely integrated with the Mother-Baby Clinical Service Line
.
This role offers a hybrid practice model
, combining inperson clinical care with 1-2 days per week of virtual (telepsychiatry) services
, supporting flexibility while maintaining strong interdisciplinary collaboration.
You will provide specialized psychiatric care to pregnant and postpartum patients, partner closely with obstetrics and pediatrics, and contribute to the continued growth of a comprehensive, systemwide perinatal mental health continuum. Our team includes experienced psychiatrists, psychologists, LICSWs, specialty nurses, and advanced practice providers dedicated to evidence based, compassionate care throughout the perinatal period.

- Provide psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for patients across the perinatal period (preconception, pregnancy, postpartum)
- Deliver outpatient psychiatric care, including medication management and collaborative treatment planning, in both inperson and virtual settings
- Participate in perinatal psychiatry consults and eConsult services supporting OB/GYN, family medicine, pediatrics, and inpatient teams
- Collaborate closely with the Mother-Baby Clinical Service Line to support integrated, whole family care
- Contribute to education and training for clinicians across Allina Health (optional, based on interest)
- Partner with interdisciplinary team members including LICSWs, psychologists, nurses, and advanced practice providers
- Support program growth, including geographic expansion and development of additional levels of care (e.g., partial hospitalization, inpatient consultative models)
- Practice within a trauma informed, culturally responsive, and patient centered care model
- Integrated behavioral health in primary care

Clinical leadership is shared between psychiatry and psychology
, working in close partnership with operations to advance access, quality, and innovation in mental health care.
- Doctoral/Ph.D. level advanced degree in Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine or foreign equivalent from an approved school of medicine
- Completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited Residency training program in Psychiatry or foreign equivalency training
- Licensed Physician - MN Board of Medical Practice required board certified in Psychiatry within two years of hire upon hire
