Training & Development Specialist (Finance)

Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is accountable for assessing, developing, implementing, facilitating, documenting, and evaluating learning solutions for the Donor Services area and other donor-focused areas as needed. Trains, monitors, and assesses new hires in key roles. This role may perform some or all of the accountabilities listed below, based on the assigned area of focus.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Instructional Design
    • Applies instructional design principles (i.e., ADDIE) to assess learning needs, design and develop instructional content, and evaluate the impact of learning solutions.
    • Designs engaging learning solutions via various learning software and tools.
    • Produces multimedia content, including videos, animations, graphics, and other multimedia needs.
    • Creates project training plans and executes accordingly.
    • Directs, assigns, or manages the work of others on project teams (SMEs, etc.).
  • Program Facilitation
    • Collaborates with leadership to deliver learning experiences to the NMDP and various network partners.
    • Applies adult learning principles and participant-centered delivery methods to present learning experiences.
    • Develops and maintains proficiency in techniques that enhance adult learning and promote the retention of knowledge.
    • Provides ongoing maintenance of instructor-led training courses and materials.
    • Adheres to FDA regulatory and continuing education credentialing body requirements related to training.
    • Conducts regular assessments to ensure that training courses meet the current business need.
    • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders and subject matter experts to create instructor-led learning experiences.
    • Manages logistics for instructor-led courses as needed.
  • Quality and Development
    • Coaches and provides feedback to new hires during training regarding independent job competencies and call quality, keeping supervisors informed.
    • Participates in call calibration, file assessment, ongoing competency conversations as required by the Donor Quality Specialist.
    • Recommends improvements to leadership surrounding training programs.
    • Assesses learning needs and identifies learning gaps for donor specialists and/or workup roles.
    • Supports training initiatives to increase donor availability efforts.
  • Other Accountabilities
    • Participates in and/or coordinates projects and other activities as assigned.
    • Adheres to patient and donor confidentiality requirements.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:

  • Instructional design and adult learning principles.
  • eLearning authoring tools (i.e., Articulate 360, Storyline).
  • Microsoft Suite of products.
  • Facilitation techniques.
  • Project management.

Ability to:

  • Develop effective instructional content through authoring software (Articulate 360, Storyline, Adobe, etc.).
  • Successfully engage diverse audiences through facilitated instructor led training programs.
  • Stay abreast of relevant knowledge and practices in the learning and development field.
  • Demonstrate ability to work successfully with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
  • Communicate effectively in all situations with strong interpersonal and consultation skills.
  • Analyze and solve problems related to training gaps.
  • Prioritize rapidly and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Handle and maintain confidential training information.
  • Travel 1-3 trips per year (as needed).

Education and/or

Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree; however, upon evaluation, a combination of equivalent experience and/or education may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Demonstrated success in and two years of experience in training, coaching, or instructional design role.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (Additional qualifications that may make a person even more effective in the role, but are not required for consideration)

  • Degree in Instructional Design, Communication, Instructional Technology, Adult Education, Healthcare, or related field.
