Position Overview
Wayzata Public Schools is seeking an enthusiastic, caring, and collaborative Preschool Teacher to join our Early Learning team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about early childhood education, skilled in developmentally appropriate practice, and committed to building strong relationships with children and families.
Responsibilities
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment aligned with district and state early learning standards
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and assessments
- Support the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of preschool-aged children
- Foster strong partnerships with families through communication, conferences, and ongoing collaboration
- Work effectively with classroom staff, specialists, and administrators
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with licensing and district requirements
- Participate in professional development and contribute to a positive team culture
- Rule 3 teacher qualified
- Strong knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practice
- Effective communication, collaboration, and classroom-management skills
- Ability to work respectfully and responsively with children, families, and colleagues
- Birth-3 teaching license preferred
- Experience working in public school or high-quality early learning settings
- Familiarity with district curriculum, assessment tools, and inclusion practices
- Experience with Creative Curriculum, Pyramid Model, Classroom Engagement Model (CEM), LETRS, and TS Gold
