Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Position is a teaching assistant in the undergraduate human anatomy cadaver lab, working under the direction of the course director to prepare the lab for weekly teaching sessions.
- Assist in teaching two 2‑hour teaching labs, one hour of open lab, and proctor exams.
- 49.5% lab setup: drawing images on whiteboards, setting up stations, specimens, dissecting anatomical structures, and attending workshops.
- 49.5% teaching: assisting students in learning weekly material by reviewing structures on donors and models.
- 1% proctor at least one lecture exam during the semester.
All required qualifications must be included in the application materials.
- Must have completed an advanced anatomy course with a cadaver lab.
- Must be available to attend lab setup on Fridays (Jan 20–May 15) 12:00‑4:00 pm.
- Must have teaching experience and be able to convey anatomical concepts clearly.
- Must be available to teach 2 2‑hour lab sessions and 1 hour open lab during the semester.
- Proctor at least one lecture exam (1.5‑hour commitment).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Successful completion of an advanced physiology course with lab.
- Experience as a teaching assistant for a 3000+ level course.
The Department of Integrative Biology and Physiology’s research centers on integrative systems biology of the heart and vasculature, linking cardiovascular diseases, obesity, diabetes, and metabolism at the whole‑animal level, bridging basic science to clinical applications.
Pay and BenefitsPay Range: $19.92 per hour, depending on education, qualifications, and experience.
Time Appointment: 25% appointment.
