Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:
Under the direction of the OST Youth Programs Coordinator and daily guidance of the OST Manager, the Child Care Assistant Teacher assists in supervising daily activities, events, and stations; interacts with children in activities and learning stations; assists in the preparation of the child care location and environment for daily program events, activities, and functions; and enforces program behavioral rules and guidelines.
The Child Care Assistant assists in implementing and monitoring activities to assure the safety of participants and staff, the adherence to program rules and guidelines, and the quality of service. The Assistant provides leadership over the site in the absence of the Child Care Teacher.
- Works with students individually and in small groups to support participation in assigned classrooms and other program spaces – gym, playground, field trips.
- Assists with classroom behavioral management.
- Assists students in non‑instructional areas, such as supervising the student lunch programs, bus duty, playground duty, corridor, study hall, and other related non‑instructional areas.
- Accompanies students on field trips for the purpose of assisting with supervision.
- Assists students to ensure maximum inclusion.
- Assists students with activities of daily living for the purpose of maximizing their ability to participate in program activities.
- Follows all applicable safety rules, procedures and regulations governing the proper manner of assistance for all students.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned.

We strongly prefer candidates who have exhibited excellence in collaboration with colleagues and an enthusiasm to work with students. Preferred candidates will also have a demonstrated commitment to growth as evidenced by ongoing professional learning, as well as participation in professional organization conferences or seminars related to the content area.
Qualifications- Education Required:
