Overview
Minneapolis College, a vibrant and inclusive two-year community college in Minnesota, is hiring a full-time Technical College Faculty – Aviation Maintenance Technician Instructor for the 2026 Fall Semester. The instructor will teach the FAA Airframe & Powerplant (14 CFR Part 147) curriculum to evening cohorts added in August 2026. The position is located in Delta Air Lines Building C at Minneapolis‑Saint Paul International Airport.

- Teaches the FAA Airframe & Powerplant curriculum (14 CFR Part 147).
- Current enrollment of three daytime cohorts of 25 students; adds two evening cohorts of 25 students in August 2026.
- Prepares students to pass the FAA Airman Certificate with “A” and “P” ratings written, oral, and practical examinations.
- Employment for graduates as aviation maintenance technicians.
- One of 49 Delta Air Lines “preferred” aviation maintenance technician schools with access to and support from one of the nation’s largest airlines.
- Provide quality teaching in assigned field of study to a diverse student population.
- Develop and revise instructional materials.
- Assess student outcomes at the course, department, and college levels.
- Maintain labs, instructional equipment, and tools in a safe, clean, organized, and professional manner.
- Establish, cultivate, and maintain collegial and cooperative work relationships with instructors, administrators, academic advisors, support staff, and all college personnel.
- Participate actively in the college community through department and school meetings and college‑wide committee work.
- Utilize campus technology to stay current in the aviation maintenance technician occupation and connect to faculty, staff, and students.
- Participate in ongoing professional development activities and professional association memberships.
- Diploma in aviation maintenance or FAA‑approved on‑the‑job training.
- Four full‑time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid occupational experience in aviation maintenance.
- One year of this work experience within the five years immediately preceding the date of application.
- FAA Airframe and Power Plant License (FAA 147 requirement).
- Bachelor’s degree in aviation maintenance, aviation management, education, or a related field.
- FAA Inspection Authorization (IA).
- Experience teaching in FAA Part 147 programs or other formal aviation maintenance technician training environments.
- Experience with learning management systems such as D2L Brightspace, Canvas, or Blackboard.
- Background in mentoring, coaching, or supervising aviation maintenance technicians or apprentices.
- Experience working with diverse student populations, including first generation, adult learners, and multilingual students.
- Experience integrating emerging technologies, such as digital maintenance systems, composites, and avionics troubleshooting tools, into instruction.
- Ability to pass a background check and be issued a contractor’s T.O.C. security badge by Delta Air Lines for facility access.
- Current and former employees must be in good standing with Minneapolis College to be considered for the position.
Monday to Thursday 3:00p.m. to 9:45p.m.; schedule varies for Friday.
Benefits and CompensationSalary range $44,359–$74,049 annually.
