POSITION TITLE:
Long-Term Substitute (5th Grade)

Dates of Service: 8/31/2026 - 10/19/2026

Rate of Pay: 33.87/ hour

We are seeking a dedicated, reliable, and qualified Long-Term Substitute Teacher to step into a classroom community and maintain a continuity of high-quality education. In this role, you will do much more than "cover" a class; you will take on the full responsibilities of a regular classroom teacher for an extended period.

Elementary Principal

• Valid Minnesota PELSB short-call or long-call substitute teacher license.

• Deliver pre-planned lessons with fidelity, while adapting materials as needed to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Grade assignments, administer quizzes/tests, and provide constructive feedback to students in a timely manner.
• Establish and enforce consistent classroom rules, routines, and behavior expectations aligned with school policies.
• Foster a positive, respectful, and safe classroom culture where all students feel valued and supported.
• Monitor student safety during classroom activities, transitions, and assigned duties (e.g., hallway, lunch, or recess monitoring).
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and behavioral incidents using the school’s information system.
• Act as the primary point of contact for parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavioral concerns, or achievements.
• Participate in mandatory staff meetings, professional development days, and parent-teacher conferences as required.

• TRA – 9.81% by District (Employee 8%)
• ESST Leave 1 hour of leave for every 30 hours worked
