Job Description
Department of Sociology at Augsburg University invites applications for adjunct faculty positions to teach undergraduate courses in 2026. The search will establish a pool of instructors for potential openings during the Fall 2026 term.
Responsibilities- Teach Introduction to Sociology and other courses such as Protest and Social Change and Disaster & Resilience as needed.
- Deliver classes 2–3 days per week, approx. 12–15 hours per week for 15–16 weeks.
- Prepare and maintain course syllabi, select textbooks and assignments, and design assessments.
- Grade student work promptly and provide constructive feedback.
- Respond to student inquiries via email, hold regularly scheduled office hours, and communicate course progress.
- Maintain regular communication with the course coordinator.
- $6,100 to $6,475 per undergraduate course
* for the 2026‑27 academic year - Eligible for 2–4% retirement contribution match

* Course refers to a typical 4‑credit undergraduate course that has met minimum enrollment requirements.
Application Requirements- Master's degree in Sociology or a closely related field and significant professional experience.
- Late‑career graduate students with relevant expertise will also be considered.
- Ph.D. in Sociology or related field.
- Teaching experience at undergraduate level.
