The work you'll do is more than just a job.As the Educator Workforce Consultant in the Educator Workforce and Development Center, you will coordinate state efforts to design and implement programs - including but not limited to Minnesota's Grow Your Own Grant - dedicated to the recruitment, diversification and retention of Minnesota's teacher workforce, so that districts, charter schools, teacher preparation programs, PELSB, and others implement effective state policies and grant programs that lead to all children having equitable access to a diverse, qualified and thriving teacher workforce.
Research, develop, support, facilitate and assess teacher recruitment and retention strategies so that state agencies implement policies and practices to address teacher shortages;
Develop, execute, manage, and monitor Minnesota's Grow Your Own grant and other grants so that grants are awarded equitably, evaluated regularly so that program support and oversight leads to successful grant implementation; and
Develop relationships with external partner groups including but not limited to educators, professional organizations and state agencies, and community groups so that educator and community voices are reflected in the work of the position.
This position is eligible for hybrid telework. Employees living within 50 miles of the office location listed above will be required to work in the office at least 50% of the time each month. Employees may reside outside the state of Minnesota if they live in a state bordering Minnesota and are within 50 miles of the primary work location. Existing employees who were approved to telework from a bordering state and more than 50 miles from their work location before June 1, 2025, may retain this arrangement unless they move farther away.

Five (5) years of professional experience as a teacher or administrator in a PreK-12 or higher education setting
A Doctorate degree may substitute for two (2) years of experience; A Master's degree may substitute for 18 months of experience; and a Bachelor's degree may substitute for one (1) year of experience.
Preferred QualificationsThree (3) years of experience as:
A school or district administrator;
A teacher education faculty or administrator at a teacher preparation institution; or
A project or grant manager
Demonstrated knowledge of or experience with:
Minnesota teacher preparation and licensure requirements;
Teacher workforce recruitment, retention, or diversification strategies;
Program evaluation and reporting;
State policy development and implementation
