Position Overview
The Department of Family Social Science is hiring an Adjunct Teaching Specialist or Adjunct Lecturer position. This is a temporary, non-tenured Academic Professional and Administrative (P&A) position paid on a per-course basis. Applications are reviewed as openings occur, and applicants are invited for interview when their skills match an opening. The individual hired will be appointed to a Fall, Spring, Summer, or full-year part-time Teaching Specialist or Lecturer during the academic year 2025-26.
Job ResponsibilitiesTeaching (90%)
- Attend class meetings and deliver course content.
- Evaluate student performance and submit grading.
- Respond to student inquiries and meet with students.
Course Preparation (10%)
- Complete orientation and training.
- Meet with appropriate faculty and gather information as needed.
- Develop course content and syllabus.
- Prepare course materials.
- An earned MA in Education, or a closely related field is required for appointment as a Teaching Specialist.
- An earned doctorate in Education or a closely related field is required for appointment as a Lecturer.
- Evidence of attention to diverse identities in teaching or professional experience, and the commitment to support the University’s work in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching at a university level.
Pay Range: The salary for this position is $2,500 per credit; pay is determined based on per credit rate structure and depending on education, qualification, experience and specific job duties.
