Overview

Minneapolis Community and Technical College is seeking an unlimited, full‑time Machine Tool Technology Instructor to join the Machine Tool Technology (MTTC) Department in the School of Trade Technologies. The position begins with the 2026 Fall semester (August 19, 2026) and follows a nine‑month academic calendar, mid‑August to mid‑May. Optional additional summer work may be available.

• Teach lecture and laboratory courses to a diverse student body, delivering quality education in Machine Tool Technology.
• Develop, revise, and maintain instructional materials for both lecture and laboratory courses.
• Assess student outcomes at the course, department, and college levels.
• Establish, cultivate, and maintain collegial relationships with faculty, administrators, academic advisors, support staff, and all college personnel.
• Actively participate in MTTC Department, School of Trade Technologies meetings, and college‑wide committees.
• Utilize campus technology to remain current in the machinist occupation and connect with students and faculty.
• Engage in ongoing professional development activities and professional association memberships.

• Two‑year diploma in Machine Tool Technology or Machinist.
• Four full‑time years of verified related paid experience in machine setup, programming, troubleshooting, and operation of both manual and CNC equipment.
• At least one year of this experience within the five years immediately preceding the Final date to receive applications (waived if two years of full‑time teaching experience within the last five years).

• Master’s degree.
• Teaching experience in a community college or technical school setting.
• Occupational experience with machine setup, programming, troubleshooting, and operation of manual and CNC equipment.
• Demonstrated computer skills with educational learning systems and Microsoft Office.
• Experience developing and using student‑centered, active, and experiential learning strategies.
• Experience incorporating technology into curriculum delivery.
• Experience assessing student academic achievement.

Classification:
Tech College Faculty – Unclassified, Unlimited. FLSA:
Exempt. Salary: $44,359 – $74,049 annually (based on education and experience).
