Lecturer‑ME FY26 Continuous Recruitment
Department:
Mechanical Engineering, University of Minnesota. Lecturers are needed to teach courses that cannot be staffed by regular faculty or graduate students. Appointments may be full‑time or part‑time and may be limited to one semester. This posting establishes a pool of applicants for openings during the 2025‑26 academic year. Appointments may be renewable based on need, funding, and performance.
- Prepare and deliver lectures (20%)
- Prepare homework assignments, quizzes and exams (20%)
- Hold office hours (15%)
- Assess student work (20%)
- Supervise the teaching assistants (15%)
- Manage the administration of the course (10%)
This position is not eligible for H‑1B visa sponsorship.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- Doctorate in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Ability to instruct effectively at both the graduate and undergraduate levels to a diverse group of engineering students.
- Expertise and documented teaching activities that demonstrate a strong potential to enhance the department’s teaching missions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching engineering curriculum at a higher education institution.
Fixed Pay Rate
: $3,100 per course credit; depending on course assignment(s).
