A De La Salle High School Biology teacher will have a strong background in biological sciences, a passion for teaching, and the ability to inspire and engage high school students. This position involves teaching both standard Biology and our Honors Biology courses, preparing students for success in college-level biology, and fostering a positive learning environment.

- Develop and implement engaging and comprehensive lesson plans that align with state and national standards.
- Create lesson plans that use a variety of instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Integrate technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance learning experiences.
- Evaluate and assess student work, providing constructive feedback to support growth and understanding.
- Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress with students, parents, and school administration.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and active learning.
- Implement effective classroom management strategies to ensure a safe and productive learning atmosphere.
- Enforce classroom rules and expectations.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in biology education and Honors science standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share resources, ideas, and strategies for improving student outcomes.
- Engage in school-wide initiatives and contribute to the overall mission and vision of the broader school community.
- Provide academic support and guidance to students, including extra help sessions, tutoring, and career readiness.
- Encourage and support student involvement in extracurricular activities such as science clubs, fairs, and competitions.
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, Biological Sciences, or related field; master’s degree preferred.
- Teaching certification.
- Proven experience teaching high school Biology and Honors level Biology, with a thorough understanding of curriculum and exam requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Passion for fostering creativity and a love for working with high school students.
- Experience in organizing art exhibitions or showcases is a plus.

- Ability to work 40+ hours a week or as required, including occasional weekend and evening work.
- Ability to lift and move up to and including 25 pounds using proper techniques.
