Teaching Specialist, Applied Business
This part‑time teaching position is responsible for University of Minnesota course instruction in Applied Business courses (ABUS) contracted by Undergraduate Applied and Professional Studies (uAPS) in the College of Continuing and Professional Studies (CCAPS). The position includes requirements for teaching asynchronously online, updating course curriculum, supporting program initiatives, participating in professional development, and/or course development as needed.
Teaching Specialists in Applied Business report to the Faculty Director for Applied Business and are typically contracted on a semester basis to teach at least one course per academic year.

This position offers a flexible work arrangement as a hybrid position and provides the opportunity to help shape the student experience.
The search committee will review applications as program needs arise throughout the year; candidates will only be contacted when a course is available.

ResponsibilitiesRequired Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive environment that serves a diverse community of learners in a professional setting.
- Master's degree in a field closely related to the course(s) of instruction.
- Six or more years of professional experience in a field/knowledge area directly related to the course(s) of instruction.
- One year of teaching or corporate training experience.
- Ph.D. or terminal degree in a field closely related to the course(s) of instruction or in adult higher education.
- Teaching experience in higher education at the undergraduate level including online courses.
- A demonstrated understanding of pedagogy that blends theoretical concepts and professional applications.
- Leadership experience in a business organization.
Pay Range: $2,437 per credit.
Retirement plan options are available for Civil Service, Faculty, Labor‑Represented, Professional & Administrative, and Temp Casual classifications.
