Position: Temporary Nonexempt- ME FY27 Continuous Recruitment.
About the Job

This position is limited to 67 or fewer days of work in a calendar year. The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities occasionally needs to hire employees on a Temporary basis throughout the year. These positions perform a variety of nonacademic and/ or academic work responsibilities in a Temporary work schedule. This does not constitute a posting for vacancies, but establishes a pool of applicants should openings occur during the  fiscal year (July - June).

Applicants will be selected from this pool on an as-needed basis. Appointments are based on need, funding, and performance. At the discretion of the supervisor, H-1B sponsorship may be provided to those who currently hold a valid visa and are present in the United States.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

* Collaborate with ME faculty and/ or research staff to facilitate ongoing research (50%)

* Gather and analyze data (50%)

Qualifications

Required qualifications

* High school degree (or equivalent GED).

* Educational credentials, work experience, and/or certifications in specific area/field that do not exceed those of comparable UMN job classifications. Qualifications determined by supervisor in consultation with Human Resources.

Preferred qualifications

* Preferred qualifications are determined by the supervisor.

About the Department

The Department of Mechanical Engineering has an internationally recognized faculty, and is part of the College of Science and Engineering, the highly interdisciplinary college of engineering, physical sciences, and mathematics.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $15.25 - $120.00 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
