As the American Indian Education Aid Specialist, you will have a key role in managing application and review processes for a variety of programs that enable American Indian students to receive the support they need to thrive in K-12 and postsecondary environments. In this role, you will focus on providing outreach to school districts, assisting with questions, and verifying that programming follows regulations.
Duties include:
+ Managing and reviewing American Indian Education Program Plans;
+ Managing applications for the Title VI programming;
+ Managing applications for the Impact Aid program;
+ Managing the Ethel Curry Scholarship application and awards.
+ This position has a focus on outreach to school districts, assisting with questions, and verifying that programming is in compliance with regulations.
+ Provide support to the Program and Compliance Monitor in analyzing data, and providing recommendations on additional programming needs that should be addressed.
** _This position is eligible for hybrid telework. Employees living within 50 miles of the office location listed above will be required to work in the office at least 50% of the time each month. Employees may reside outside the state of Minnesota if they live in a state bordering Minnesota and are within 50 miles of the primary work location.
Existing employees who were approved to telework from a bordering state and more than 50 miles from their work location before June 1, 2025, may retain this arrangement unless they move farther away._*
* ** Minimum Qualifications*
* ** Please ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job held. * One (1) year of professional experience managing grant processes, American Indian Education programming/instruction, or general education programming.
OR
Three (3) years of professional experience providing administrative support duties for grant processes, American Indian Education programming/instruction, or general education programming.
* A bachelor's or master's degree may substitute for 1 year of professional experience.
** Preferred Qualifications*
* +
Experience with data analysis;
+ Experience providing tribal consultation under ESSA;
+ Experience utilizing and applying American Indian statutes, laws, and policies;
+ Experience working with tribal governments.
