The Department of Social Work at Augsburg University invites applications for part‑time adjunct faculty positions to teach undergraduate, graduate, and LADC program courses in 2026. This search will establish a pool of instructors for possible openings during the Spring, Summer, or Fall of 2026.
ResponsibilitiesInstructors will:
- Teach assigned courses, including undergraduate, graduate, or LADC courses.
- Develop and maintain course syllabi with calendars, textbook and homework selections, sample activities, and exams.
- Engage in student instruction, grading, and assessment of coursework.
- Respond to student questions via e‑mail, hold regular office hours, and monitor student progress.
- Communicate regularly with the course coordinator and maintain shared office space.
- Commit 12–15 hours per week for the 15–16 week instructional period.
Applicants must reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin; this requirement applies even for courses taught online.
Compensation & Benefits- $5,800–$6,175 per undergraduate course (2025‑26 academic year).
- $6,800–$6,975 per graduate course (2025‑26 academic year).
- Tuition discount for employees and dependents.
- Not eligible for healthcare benefits.
- Subject to the collective bargaining agreement with SEIU, Local 284.
- A master’s degree in social work is required for all social work courses.
- An LADC is required for all LADC courses.
- Two years of post‑MSW full‑time practice experience.
- Social work licensure in Minnesota at the LGSW, LISW, or LICSW level.
- Previous university‑level teaching experience.
- Intercultural competency and commitment to inclusive practice.
- Curriculum vitae or resume.
- Unofficial undergraduate and graduate transcripts.
- Cover letter highlighting teaching experience, general availability (day, evening, weekend), and a statement of commitment to diversity and inclusion.
