About the Job
Position Overview:
The University of Minnesota, Department of Theatre Arts and Dance, has an occasional need for part‑time, temporary theatre arts or dance instructors to teach day or evening classes. This does not constitute a posting for vacancies, but establishes a pool of applicants should openings occur during the 2026‑2027 academic year. Applications will not be acknowledged upon receipt. Applicants will only be contacted should an active opening occur during the academic year.
Positions may be appointed during the 2026‑2027 academic year: fall semester 2026, spring semester 2027, or summer 2027.
$2000 - $2500 per credit; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
- BA/BFA or five years of professional experience; with experience teaching or certification in the relevant field of study.
- Candidates with BA/BFA will be appointed as teaching specialists.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MA/MFA or seven years professional training or extensive professional experience in the area of specialization.
- Candidates with MA/MFA will be hired as lecturers.
Minimum $2,000 - $2,500 per credit; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
Retirement plan options are available for Civil Service, Faculty, Labor‑Represented, Professional & Administrative, and Temp Casual classifications.
