Job Title
Associate Educator (High Five) – ) Bethune Elementary
Position Details- Requisition
- FTE: 90.63 – 36.2 hours per week for 41 weeks
- Salary: $27.17 – $30.75 per hour
- Benefits:

- Assist students with classroom educational programs and special assignments.
- Support teachers and staff in facilitating instruction and maintaining a safe learning environment.
- Administer a variety of school, community, and special programs including after–school activities, media and technology services, and transportation support.
- Monitor student behavior, enforce district policies, and de‑escalate conflicts.
- Maintain detailed records of student progress, attendance, and behavioral assessments.
- Communicate with parents, students, and staff, ensuring confidentiality and clarity of information.
- Provide general office and administrative support for assigned programs.
- Promote the Superintendent’s goals and contribute to a harmonious workplace culture.
- Work flexible hours as required, including occasional extended or after‑school shifts.
- Behavior Resource – discipline support and parent communication.
- Bilingual – interpreter services in Hmong, Oromo, Somali, or Spanish.
- Media Resource – library circulation, device support, and technology assistance.
- Title 1 Computer Resource – lab support and student training.
- Transportation Resource – bus discipline and transportation coordination.
- Truancy – attendance enforcement and student outreach.
- Education:
90 college quarters (or 60 semester credits) in Education, Child Development, or a related field; OR a high school diploma/GED with a Para Pro assessment score of 460 or higher. - Experience:
Two years working professionally with children; OR a comparable combination of education, training, and experience. - Knowledge of: state and district policies, classroom procedures, student behavior management, specialized software, and community resources.
- Skills:
instruction support, behavior monitoring, program administration, effective communication, collaboration, and written record keeping. - Certification:
First Aid/CPR/AED required within one year; verbal de‑escalation training may be required. - Driver’s License:
Minnesota State driver’s license may be required.
Work primarily in classroom and office settings, involving regular walking, standing, and occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds. Employees may need to physically restrain students when necessary.
