Job Summary

Every Special Education Para educator has the opportunity to join a team of motivated, mission‑driven teammates who are committed to taking responsibility for their students’ learning. Special Education Paraeducators are charged with providing a rigorous, fast‑paced, and highly structured learning environment for their scholars.

We are looking for a highly qualified Special Education Para educator to join our school team. The primary responsibility of the individual in this role will be supporting a student individually with specific educational, social and emotional needs. Candidates that are selected for an interview will receive additional information regarding the specific roles and responsibilities.

Professional Development is scheduled into the calendar year and provides a time for all campuses to come together and celebrate our success.

Hiawatha Employment Logistics

Hiawatha Collegiate High School students’ school day is from 8:45 a.m. – 3:45 p.m. Monday‑Thursday and 8:45 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Friday.

Staff hours are 8:15 a.m. – 4:15 p.m. Monday‑Friday.

Professional development sessions are held each Friday from 2:15 p.m. – 4:15 p.m.

All Hiawatha staff are expected to attend and participate in relevant evening family events to be held at the school.
