ResponsibilitiesAs the American Indian Education Aid Specialist, you will have a key role in managing application and review processes for a variety of programs that enable American Indian students to receive the support they need to thrive in K-12 and postsecondary environments. In this role, you will focus on providing outreach to school districts, assisting with questions, and verifying that programming follows regulations.
Duties include:
- Managing and reviewing American Indian Education Program Plans;
- Managing applications for the Title VI programming;
- Managing applications for the Impact Aid program;
- Managing the Ethel Curry Scholarship application and awards.
- This position has a focus on outreach to school districts, assisting with questions, and verifying that programming is in compliance with regulations.
- Provide support to the Program and Compliance Monitor in analyzing data, and providing recommendations on additional programming needs that should be addressed.
Position is eligible for hybrid telework. Employees living within 50 miles of the office location listed above will be required to work in the office at least 50% of the time each month. Employees may reside outside the state of Minnesota if they live in a state bordering Minnesota and are within 50 miles of the primary work location. Existing employees who were approved to telework from a bordering state and more than 50 miles from their work location before June 1, 2025, may retain this arrangement unless they move farther away.
Minimum QualificationsPlease ensure that your resume clearly describes your experience in the areas listed and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job held. One (1) year of professional experience managing grant processes, American Indian Education programming/instruction, or general education programming.
OR
Three (3) years of professional experience providing administrative support duties for grant processes, American Indian Education programming/instruction, or general education programming.
* A bachelor's or master's degree may substitute for 1 year of professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with data analysis;
- Experience providing tribal consultation under ESSA;
- Experience utilizing and applying American Indian statutes, laws, and policies;
- Experience working with tribal governments.
