- Work collaboratively with administration and middle school classroom teaching teams;
- Engage students in learning through best practice strategies, establishing high expectations for students;
- Communicate effectively with parents, students and staff;
- Plan, organize and deliver lessons consistent with MN state standards;
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all your students;
- Follow all policies and procedures that teachers are subject to, and which good teaching practice dictates;
- Experience with standards-based instruction, English-Language Learners and common assessments is a plus;
- Hold a valid Minnesota teaching license or obtain one prior to hire;
- Focus on East African culture and its connection to the Visual Arts;
Salary is determined by experience and education, ranging from $47,568.18 to $85,922.88 for the 2026-27 school year. Current Minnesota licensed Tier 3 or 4 teacher salary starts at $51,828.55. Additional salary available for completed master’s, master’s + 60 credits, Ed.D. or Ph.D.

Employees must enroll in the Teacher's Retirement Association (TRA) retirement plan.
