Salary Range: $23.00 To $25.00 Hourly

POSITION OVERVIEWThe primary objective of this position is to plan, implement and coordinate high-quality OST & summer youth development activities for grades 6-12 under supervision of the Associate Director, Youth + Future Focus. The Bilingual Media & College Access Coordinator will engage in intentional relationship building with youth, families and community partners in the Phillips neighborhood and across South Minneapolis. They will be charged with building out and facilitating arts, media and storytelling activities, organizing opportunities/partnerships for youth internships and clubs.
They will lead the FANS Scholars college access cohort at Waite House and facilitate media activities within Minneapolis Public Schools Beacons program. In addition to facilitating programming, this position will provide 1:1 goal‑setting and case management services for 16 FANS Scholars annually and supervise tutor(s) and college intern(s), as assigned, to co‑facilitate activities.
- Creation of high‑quality youth development activities focused on storytelling, media, narrative and youth advocacy skills delivered through experiential learning in collaboration with Youth Department + KRSM Radio team leaders, including program design, implementation, reflection, and continuous improvement
- Model asset‑based, community youth development practices in direct service programming
- Collaborate with internal media social enterprises North News and KRSM to build out agency‑wide youth media platforms to promote youth storytelling
- Collaborate with PUC’s Youth Food Systems team to increase access to food justice learning and paid internship opportunities for youth in the Phillips neighborhood and across South Minneapolis
- Contribute to “FANS Advocates” team to broaden opportunities for the agency‑wide program (events, college tours, navigating systems of higher education, co‑develop educational equity framework)
- Facilitate youth/stakeholder reflection sessions to center the desires, passions of program participants
- Pilot and develop new activities based on participant feedback
- Make recommendations for program improvements
- Stay current with and connected to available community resources
- Develop and execute on program goals related to culturally relevant youth development and career pathways in Youth Storytelling /Media /Tech fields
- Planning and implementation of weekly after‑school group sessions at Minneapolis Public School sites and Waite House (School‑year) and facilitate /supervise intensive summer internships
- Participate in ongoing program improvement planning with Youth Department, including annual M3 evaluation retreat
- Conduct outreach and enrollment for all programs. Actively promote the program in community and recruit youth participants
- Ensure daily attendance recording and all necessary other tracking logs and record keeping for progress towards goals
- Ensure intakes, attendance + youth surveys are completed for your specific program. Work with Youth Evaluation Manager on outcome planning and timelines
- Direct Communication with youth and families (EX: scheduling, updates, check‑ins, requesting feedback, events)
- Create feedback channels for partners, families and youth to improve the program and address the specific needs of youth participants
