Requirements

Candidates must meet one of the following Minnesota paraprofessional qualifications:

• Earn at least 60 college credits from an accredited institution
• Hold an Associate's degree or higher
• Complete the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE)-approved competencies
• Achieve a passing score on the Para Pro or Para Educator Assessment

Additional requirements:

• Ability to pass all required background checks and district onboarding requirements
• Previous experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom and one-on-one support to students under the direction of a licensed teacher
• Assist with implementing instructional activities and accommodations
• Support students with academic, behavioral, social, and functional goals
• Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
• Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and school staff to support student success
• Assist students with daily living activities as needed based on individual student needs
