With supervision...

• assist licensed teaching staff in the implementation of a comprehensive educational program;
• work in Early Childhood programs that serve students ages 3-5 with autism, developmental impairments, physical impairments, other health impairments, and behavioral disorders;
• participate as part of the program and help create classroom environment that is
  • multicultural/gender/ability fair;
  • developmentally appropriate;
  • favorable to learning and growth; and is
  • based on a commitment that all children can learn.

• prepare modifications/adaptations materials for centers and activities daily/weekly as assigned by the teacher
• work in Early Childhood Programs that serve students ages 3-5 with autism, developmental delays, physical impairments, physical impairments and other health impairments
• implement and maintain school programs and services for students with disabilities;
• collaborate effectively with a lead teacher, while having the ability to work independently;
• may provide personal care support to students who need assistance including, but not limited to, toileting, dressing, and feeding;
• meet the District's standards for employee performance and attendance;
• successfully work with students with emotional/behavior issues and assist students with academic and social skills; and
• perform related duties as assigned/requested.

• holding either a high school diploma or a GED certificate;
• completed 90 quarter or 60 semester college credits and/or AA degree OR receiving a passing score on the Para Pro Assessment;
• The Para Pro Assessment is available in the Human Resources Office and can be taken after a job offer is obtained, contact Human Resources with questions at ;
• Ability to pass pre-work physica and complete PCA training.
• training and experience in the use of computers and other technology equipment;
• ability to act in a leadership role and independently initiate and follow through on tasks, under minimal supervision; and
• demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills in working with students, families, and community representatives, and in collaborating with school personnel.

• working effectively and in collaboration with others;
• maintain confidentiality

There are physical demands to this position, including

• being able to lift 40 pounds;
• frequent bending and/or twisting; and
• possibly physically restraining students

Group Paraprofessionals Position EC Paraprofessional Rate of Pay $20.75-$24.20/hr

• Sick Leave, 403(b), medical, dental, life, LTD.
• Other Additional $0.75/hr differential if employee hold's a bachelor's degree
