What You’ll Do

As a Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for creating and implementing a high-quality, nurturing, anti-bias, developmentally appropriate classroom environment. You will provide leadership within the classroom team and ensure strong care, communication, and developmental support for children.

  • Develop and implement theme-based curriculum aligned with YWCA’s Anti-Bias Curriculum
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive learning environment
  • Assess, document, and communicate children’s developmental progress
Core Competencies
  • Early Childhood Education & Development: Ability to support social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development using best practices
  • Leadership &

    Collaboration:

    Experience guiding classroom staff and serving as a role model and mentor
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with families, staff, and stakeholders

You are a compassionate, culturally responsive early childhood professional who is committed to equity, inclusion, and high-quality care. You thrive in collaborative environments and are passionate about supporting the growth and development of young children in a diverse classroom setting.

Requirements Qualifications Required :
  • Minimum of one year experience in Early Childhood Education
  • Meet Minnesota DHS Rule 3 Teacher qualifications, including required in-service hours
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred:
  • AA or BA in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or related field
  • Ability to speak a second language (helpful, but not required)
